SUPER: Aspect ratio limitation?

Using SUPER I had this message:



Is that really true, that both width and height of a file must be divisble by 16?

If so, it seems to rule out a lot of popular sizes, including 1920 x 1080, 1600 x 900, etc.

BTW, I tried in vain to reach the SUPER Forum. Various sources gave me the link

You should really try using another program.
The fact that their "forum" is just a survey should tell you something...

SUPER is a shadow of it's former self....and even then it was only to be used in dire emergencies. It is now a malware-riddled POS.

This is SUPER 2008, so maybe that was before the malware problems that Hech54 mentions. I do recall it was a struggle actually locating the download on the dreadful site, but on the relatively few occasions I've used it in the years since then it's been pretty trouble-free. I have several other conversion programs, but SUPER is normally my preferred first choice.

No one else encountered an issue with resolutions not divisible by 16?

Anyone ever used the forum? I've seen it mentioned in several posts so I'm wondering if it did once exist but has now been discontinued?

i prefer the older versions
and i use it on youtube videos and such
not for any DVD work
any size changes i did for 'mobile use' were always std sizes divisable by 16
it may be that this limit is built in to Super
while some encodes in DVD world can be done at base 4, base 16 is considered the safest / most reliable for
across platform playablity

conversion for PC use is another matter, and many video's are cropped top and bottom and packaged in avi or mkv format, but offer problems when converted to other formats
