    Attempted all the subtitle settings, but could not get subtitles to display in Blu-Ray movies compared to DVD movies.
    Examples: The subtitles that come with "Avatar" and "Field of Dreams" display fine in DVD, but not in Blu-Ray.

    blu-ray still requires a paid player to access all features - like totalmedia theater or powerdvd.

    Try LAV Splitter + ffdshow subtitle filter.
