  1. I have downloaded several youtube hd videos of resolution 1280 x 720 (mp4 format) bitrates around 1800 to 2500 Kbps
I would like to edit some parts add transitions, titles and join them into a final video
What software would be useful for this??

I took these over to a freidn who has Nero and exsperimented with two videos totalling 6 minutes - they were not smart rendered and with a final export bitrate of 5000 Kbps they processing took 54 minutes and resulted in an unbelievable file size

I them trialled Cyberlink but the mp4 export format was not customizable

I do not mind buying a program and would request recommendations from the video geeks here

    Thank you

I use freemake video converter for all conversions, cutting and joining. It is freeware (watch what you're unticking while installing (adware)).

For editing and make a movie with transitions ect... I use Cyberlink Power Director Ultra (49.99 $). In reviews it seems that this program is the best and the cheapest. I bought it anyway.
When you convert your movie in mp4 format in Cyberlink there are issues indeed.
Thats why I use Freemake Video Converter to convert the Cyberlink mp4 (Sony) to a 'normal' mp4 with the same features.
