When I load a movie into RipBot264 I have the audio stream options WAVE, FLAC and CORE. With 5.1 channel audio I normally select CORE, then on the next screen under PROFILE I select X.X COPY STREAM. I believe this muxes the DTS stream into the mkv file untouched (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I have a blu-ray movie with 7.1 channel DTS audio. When I select CORE and then X.X COPY STREAM the mkv produced is only 5.1 channel. Alternatively I can select WAVE which keeps the 7.1 channels in tact, however there is no X.X COPY STREAM option. I have to re-encode the audio as AC3 640kbps. The other option is to choose FLAC and X.X COPY STREAM which works well, but the audio is still being re-encoded.
So my question is, why does RipBot allow me to directly input the untouched 5.1 channel DTS stream and NOT a 7.1 channel DTS stream? Am I doing something wrong or is there a logical explanation? Is there a way around this? Thanks.
