  1. I have a .m4v file that I ripped from a DVD.
    It's a great quality, but if I import it into an editor (imovie or final cut pro) it becomes choppy.

    I think I need to do some sort of conversion on my m4v file into something that is editor friendly.
    I have the program mpeg streamclip and I have tried a few conversions but I always lose quality immediately, before I even import it into a video editor. All my conversions have come out poor so far, there are so many codecs and options to choose from it's confusing. Also options like "deinterlace video" which I think is what I want.

    Any help is most appreciated, I've been at this 5 days now
