    Dear forum,

    i found anywhere this 2 informations:

    1. How can i convert the DVD i 1 File without compression and whitout Quality lost?
    2. Wich format/codec has a DVD?

    This file has to be editablle in iMovie

    DVD is MPEG2. Can Mac computers and software handle MPEG2 without needing to pay extra money to Apple for a plugin?

    If you have a commercial dvd then rip the dvd your hdd with dvdfab decrypter or ripit.

    Use mpeg streamclip to convert the dvd folder to a quicktime mov with for example the apple intermediate codec. Use same fps, frame size as the dvd source. Import the mov in iMovie. But you will lose some quality because of the reconversion.
