PotPlayer - How to restore settings via .ini / .reg

Hay there,
I have a quite noobish question to kick off with, i'm afraid :
After i've stored my settings in .ini and .reg files, i updated PotPlayer64 to latest version,
but i can't figure out how to handle those files correctly.
All i now is .reg files get usually run by double-click, that writes my settings to the reg. but i can't pick them in PotPlayer.
While under the preferance=>configuration tab there are no presets at all, as i deleted them obviously by engaging the initialize-button, mistakenly.. ,
Is it somehow possible to get those presets back when they are still existing in the registry ?
[I just did a complete new set-up, but for the next update i'd really like to know better.
Seems all the tutorials presume one has basic knowledge about handling those files.
