converted a file from rmvb to mkv 720p or 1080p file using AVS 7.1, the converted file video is a bit slow motion, the audio is fine, tried playing it on my computer and tv directly through usb or over the network, same result.
i have another mkv file that plays just fine on the computer or tv, so i used the same settings bit/frame rate, etc. to convert the rmvb, but only difference is the audio, the good mkv file shows AC3, but my AVS 7.1 doesn't have that option, so i used MP3 for the audio.
Is my computer system too slow to do the conversion to mkv 720p or 1080p or is my setting in AVS 7.1 not correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you doing any framerate conversion? Always try use same fps as the source.
thanks for the reply.
i'm a newbie when it comes to video, basically just trying to convert all my rmvb files into mkv 720p or 1080p file so i can place it on my network for TVs to access it.
i don't know what's framerate conversion, so i guess it is no.
so you are suggesting i should use the same fps as the rmvb files?
thanks in advance.
I tried the way you suggested, but still no luck, and I even tried low quality without 720p or 1080p, in avi, mpg, mkv, all output files are slightly slow motion...the audio if fine.
Before I try another converter, please let me know if you find this strange or may know what's going on.
When I convert RMVB files that are about 40 to 45 mins in length, without adjusting any settings in AVS and only selecting output file as MKV in 720p, all the converted files play fine on my pc, laptop, and tv......quality is much better than the RMVB ones too.
But when I convert RMVB files that are about 1 hour 30 mins to 2 hours in length, without adjusting any setting in AVS like above, and/or adjusting settings in AVS to match the source RMVB file as you have suggested, tried both ways with or without 720p, the output files come out to be slightly slow motion when playing it on pc or tv.
I find this very strange, and the only difference I can tell is the converted 45mins video is about 1 to 2 gigs file size, and the converted 90mins to 120mins video ranges from 3 to as high as 10 gigs file size.
Thanks in Advance.
