I want to convert a DVD with Soft subtitles for AppleTV/iTunes.
I found only DVDRemaster for OSX and MakeMKV for Windows that is capable of doing soft subtitles for iTunes/AppleTV.
All others are doing burned in subtitles (even in Handbrake when Burned in is not checked!)
Anyone found a good DVD ripper for doing Soft subtitles?

Okay, you probably need to:
a. convert the normal picture based subtitles using a OCR program (SubRip&Co)
b. convert the video to H.264 and aac (you might need to downmix to stereo, if iTunes does not support 5.1 audio) inside a mp4 container, with a .m4a extension
c. make sure that during muxing to mp4 the flags iTunes needs are enabled
Most tools I know of can't do step 1, since sadly there are no command line ocr tools (since ocr normally strongly relies on user inputs to fix errors).
