  1. Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend some an easy free video editing software for "QuickTime"(AVI/MP4/etc) format. I currently have Win 7 and want to splice and join a generic "QuickTime" format video for a friend. I don't want to spend a lot of time learning and download multiple software/codecs like say for BluRay Ripper and Rendering/Shrinking. So I am hoping some of you can recommend a easy to use software for what I am trying to achieve.

    Thanks,

There's not many freeware editor programs out there for QT format. You might try MPEG StreamClip Or someone here may recommend a program they use.

    And welcome to our forums.

Just for basic cutting, avidemux, open video, set start and stop, press delete, under video and audio choose copy, under format choose same format as your source like avi,mp4. Save as new video.avi/mp4.

If you have different video sources must you reconvert, then can you try freemake video converter, open all your video use, the scissor to cut each clip, click on join video at top right to join, convert to AVI/MP4/etc.

Thanx. So Avidemux does allow cutting and splicing of the same format correct?

I will give it a shot. Thank you all.
