  1. I see movies in difference formats, but I don't understand what the difference is. Could someone explain these in layman terms so I could understand?
    SD (Image)
    SD
    HD (Remux)
    HD (x264)
    HD (Image)
    Thank you for your explanation.

SD = standard definition, 720x576 or less
HD = high definition, 1280x720 or more
Remux = original audio/video packaged in a different container
Image = copy of entire disc
x264 = reencoded with x264 (usually to reduce file size, lower quality than remux or image)

The thing with those dl files is that most of them are made by people using crap software, or good software they don't know how to use properly. It's a lot more complex than ripping audio from your cd's. You cannot tell how good the quality will be from any of those specs. And most of the people who post user comments on those sites appear to be legally blind morons.

  6. Thanks to those that clarified this for me. Now I understand. and NO, I do not download movies. I just saw these and did not know what the difference was. I was only trying to learn something. Noahtuck, please don't point a finger. Just because some may be guilty of this does not mean I am. It's to bad someone can't ask an honest question in this forum without someone jumping on it, and being accusatory. I was always told the guilty dog barks first.
That pretty much sums it up!!
