Exporting from FCP, QT conversion, I have tried perhaps 5 different combinations of settings. My movie ends up letterbox that takes up the entire screen, a smaller letterbox inside the screen, and 4x3.
Shot with different cameras, some video, some DSLR. Always shot 16x9.
Can anyone help with a solution? Do I need to reimport the files into FCP again with different settings according to the camera?
This is really frustrating. Any advice is most appreciated, thanks!

You don't say what the files are (either originals or renders), nor their settings, nor the settings you used in either FCP or Qt.
How can we help you in such darkness?
