I always used to do MP4Box.exe -par 1=16:9 "video.mp4" which worked fine in the past but not anymore.
It screwed up the resolution in the header so MediaInfo now reports 720x4294964692 instead of 720x400. I had to delete and re-encode.
What's the new trendy way to do this since MP4Box doesn't work anymore?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

delete it and use the backup copy of the video you made before messing with it?
or toss it and say oh well, i'll remember to make a backup next time--

With MP4Box you set the PAR, not the DAR.
To set a 720x480 video to 16:9, you need a PAR of (480/720)*(16/9) = 32:27 ≈ 1.185
For other frame sizes you have to tweak the numbers. -
OKey. Back to the topic now.
What mp4box version are you using? Maybe try mp4box 0.5.1 dev from http://gpac.wp.mines-telecom.fr/downloads/gpac-nightly-builds/
