  1. In the Tools page, there is no DVD to WMV. So how do I convert directly from DVD videos to WMV?

    Here's a guide:

If you're doing this to use an Xbox as a media server, you'd really be a lot better off to just buy a Western Digital or similar streaming media player and not have to put up with the pain necessary to convert to WMV.

  4. Trying avidemux now. I do not see a WMV option under "video output" (codec) nor "output format" (container). Is it under a different name or am I suppose to install something extra?

Or check out the AVi/WMV tools section. Provided some AviSynth knowledge, WMNicEnc could be your choice.

If you rip your DVDs to MKV using MakeMKV, then I'm pretty sure that Encode360 will convert them to WMV.

Encode360 is getting a little old now, but it still works quite well for WMV.
