    hi all,

i'm trying to get videodub 1.9.11 going with x264vfw (x264vfw_37_2200bm_33968.exe).

virtualdub has been configured as per:
    timelapseblog.com/2009/08/04/using-virtualdub-for-time-lapse/

the config i've used for x264vfw is described in:
    http://www.wcreplays.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113891
although i only have the Main tab (must be basic version?).

the warning message i get when trying to save as avi is:
x264vfw [warning]: frame MB size (324x216) > level limit (36864)
x264vfw [warning]: DPB size (3 frames, 80621568 bytes) > level limit (2 frames, 70778880 bytes)

i'm not sure what this means exactly... i've added 24 photos which are all 5184 x 3456 and all ~7.9 mb each.

    any ideas?

    thanks,

    dh.

  2. Because it exceeds the level you set

Most devices are limited to L4.1, the max resolution is 2048x1080 for that level
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC#Levels

You can use a higher level, but normally people would resize the photos to 1920x1080 if the intended target was a HDTV. Since your photo AR is 1.5, either pillarbox, or cropped view.

Unless you have a 4K projector or monitor, it's useless to view at your current resolution

ok, the res was just off camera.

resized to 1920 x 1080 and the errors no longer occur.
