It could be the reason, but imovie hd should be able to open it (since version 5 - that's 2005-2006) . Whenever you import HD footage into imovie hd (Something like AVCHD, HDV) , it converts it to AIC
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Well, but I imported it and it was totally empty and without sound. It was a white mute thing all along the duration of the video.

Actually, I couldnīt import it normally because it didnīt recognize it. I needed to create a new project and I think that I dragged it into it later.
