Hi. I have this .mp4 movie file with duplicate frames in the following pattern, the movie runs jerky:

    1 2 3 4 4 5 6 7 8 8 9 10 11 12 12...

I want to reencode the movie to DVD format, how can I delete those duplicate frames?

    Thank you.

Are they duplicate frames or duplicate fields? There's a difference, but usually this would be telecine (3:2 pulldown, or 23.976 fps film adapted for 29.97 fps playback). Can't say for sure without a few seconds of sample video with horizontal motion.

    Try this article: http://neuron2.net/faq.html

If they are frame duplicates it could be someone did field matching on a 3:2 stream but forgot to decimate the duplicates. Or somebody converted 23.976 to 29.97 using frame duplication.

Use Avisynth and just apply Decimate().
