I have a video file that is .mkv format and is 8.7GB file size. I have an external HDD i use with my PS3 to watch videos on my TV. The file system on the drive is fat32 which is the only format PS3 will recognize. So im stuck with a file tranfer limit of 4GB. Also, PS3 wont play .mkv files. So, what can i do to get the file size down under 4GB? I have tried using TSMuxer and split the video into 3 segments. But the file had no audio. I hate to lose major video quality but if need be i will convert to a lower res. I have TSMuxer, DIVX Converter, Converter Lite, and MultiAVCHD 4.1, as far as converting programs are concerned. Can anyone give me an idea of what to do, and a sort of walk thru if need be? I am fairly knowledgeable with media and computers, but for some reason i cant get what i want out of this. lol.

    Have a look at MKV2VOB

    Explained here :

    and here :

Set the option to split the file for FAT32 in the configuration screen, choose your source file and that's about it. It will even convert any DTS audio to AC3 so you can now watch your MKV movie with DTS audio on your PS3

I've just done a movie with DTs audio so can vouch it works, but don't have a PS3 to test the files. But it converts them to MPG
