  1. Hi,
    I have just downlaoded the latest ripbot264 and just wanted to kow what the new profile setting is.

    usually change the profile to 4.1 High.
    Now there is a setting called Hi10. WHat is Hi10? IIs it a better quality profile then High.

    Another thing is i use a CQ 17.5 for DVDs and CQ 19.75 for BD
    Is there much difference with the slow or slower preset on top of this

  2. Hi10 uses 10 bit primaries rather than 8 bit. It gives better gradients. But few players can handle playback.

    truth is that NONE hardware device available for average joe can decode 10 bit avc. Only PC using software decoders will be able to decode that kind of video stream.
