In that case, it's possible that your friend's archiver could be too old and just didn't understand the ZIP format. Updates in the ZIP standards allow for different techniques to improve the compression and speed.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!
