    Hello

I used the keywords in the title but didn't find a thread about how to create a video file with an MP3 file and a picture.

Is there a free application that can do this easily, ie. with zero knowledge about audio/video editing?

    Thank you.

Edit : found a post that explains how to do this with ffmpeg

There are other (better?) ways that DON'T turn the pic into a piece of video and raise the bitrate disproportionately.

Encode the pic to an MPEG still. (Still best done with VCDEasy)
Mux the MPEG still & the mp3 together. (Imago, TMPGEnc, most any other muxer that understands MPEG stills)

    See comparison:

    2. Picture as MPEG video: http://www.cornucopiadm.com/goodies/Still_as_MPEGvideo.mpg

Just out of curiosity, does VCDEasy support Very-High-Quality matrices like the one below?

    Code:
    [INTRA]

    1,1,1,2,2,2,2,2
    1,2,2,2,2,2,2,2
    1,2,2,2,2,2,2,2
    2,2,2,2,2,2,2,3
    2,2,2,2,2,2,3,3
    2,2,2,2,2,3,3,3
    2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3
    2,2,2,3,3,3,3,3

    [INTER]

    1,1,1,2,2,2,2,2
    1,2,2,2,2,2,2,2
    1,2,2,2,2,2,2,2
    2,2,2,2,2,2,2,3
    2,2,2,2,2,2,3,3
    2,2,2,2,2,3,3,3
    2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3
    2,2,2,3,3,3,3,3

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.
