A relative of mine had this PC built & gave it me as a present.

I updated all the drivers and the DVD plays much better but still after some time the audio and video slowly goes out of sync.
The audio is usually normal but the video is a little behind.

why is this and what can i do about it?
My old PC has many viruses in it and is really slow. but the DVDs played fine. So is there anything I can take out of that and install into this new one without transferring the viruses.

Plus Now i have windows 7 Home Premium and the old PC had Windows XP if that makes a difference.

    Specs of New PC:
    RAM: 1.87 gb
    32-bit
    Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Display Adapters: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 SERIES
    High Definition Audio Device

    Thank You

What do you play with? Try different players like VLC Media Player. It has builtin decoders.
Is it just DVDs that goes out sync?
