  1. These are the actions that I want to do:
    a1: deinterlace mpeg 2 clips;
    a2: crop 2 pixels from top, bottom, left, right;
    a3: resize mpeg 2 clips to 16:9 resolution with square pixels and mod2 vertical resolution;
    a4: denoise the clips, because they were recorded in low light and have alot of noise;
    a5: import the clips in premiere pro cs3, edit them, adjust their tonality and color grade them;
    a6: export with debugmode frameserver, and encode to progressive H.264, with x264.

    Problems:
    p1: I have no idea what codec to use. For example, if I use avisynth to deinterlace, resize, crop and denoise, then I have to use virtualdub to export to avi, but there are so many codecs: huffyuv, lagarith, ffv1, msu, cineform, dv and many others. All I know is that I should use an intraframe codec for editing, but I don't know wich one to use;
    p2: I don't know what the best tools are for the actions listed above. For example, is sorenson squeeze better than avisynth + virtualdub ?
    p3: I don't know what denoise filter to use in avisynth. How can I find the right denoise filter for the amont of noise ? Wich denoise filter is the best ?
    p4: What is the correct order of filters in avisynth: deinterlace->crop->resize->denoise, or deinterlace->crop->denoise->resize ?

    Here are the technical details of the clips, in case they are needed:
