The majority of what is out on the internet still seems to be xvid, but I am seem to be seeing more and more mkv. Rumor has it that there are cheap players that will handle the mkv 'package' but so far I don't find people mentioning which players.
So are there now fairly decent, cheap players that can handle this format? I'm considering something that would be halfway close to my Philips DVP 5140 for decent quality, play nearly anything you throw at it, and cost well under $100.
Any suggestions for something commonly available that can play all the older formats, and add in the .mkv stuff, too?
