I now have software that will edit and author in 60P. However, my Blu-Ray player cannot play it. It plays only on the computer Is there a player that can play to AVCHD 2.0 and if so, what is it? Blu-Ray player is an LG BD-550. I will check for firmware update but, I doubt it exists for this mode.

  2. one solution is to go away from optical media storage , away from their copyright politics , check out those- find one that plays 60p:

yes, you can have both, BD player and one of those little boxes that can play anything fom HDD, thumbdrive, over LAN also. And you will still be better off.

There is a Version 2.0 spec for AVCHD and a separate Version 2.0 spec for future Blu-Ray players that adds 1080 50p/60p, 25p/30p AVCHD Lite and compatible 3D playback modes.

Sony and Panasonic control the AVCHD spec. LG is part of the Blu-Ray Association.

Each company will announce new Version 2.0 players. Sony has stated that some current players will be updated with a firmware update but hasn't identified which models can be updated to Version 2.
