Sony DVP-SR750H wont play divx files.

hello, i recently bought SONY DVP-SR750H . I have one problem with it. it can only play some avi files . whenever i want to play a movie i get ; data error (video) . i've read on other site, that someone had the same problem but with another sony dvd player and he fixed it by downloading latest firmware. unfortunately there is no newer firmware version on the internet for my dvd player .
what do you guys think. thx in advance.

Yes, yes i did, i don't know what's wrong everything should be fine...

Install MediaInfo and post what it says about your problem file. It could be that there is something wrong with it that you can't see.

If the file looks like it is OK, it could possibly one of the following:
You're trying to play from a USB device and not telling us.
The ones that work are on a media brand that is different from the ones that don't work.
The discs that don't work are burned in UDF format and the ones that work are burned in ISO/JOLIET format.
Something else.
