I have a couple of movies that both have these files: MKV + IDX + SUB.

I would like to merge them.

How do I do this? I am looking for a solution thats easy for anybody - even me, please.

    Thanx.

Ps. Can "mkvmerge GUI" do the trick?

    Yes mkvmergegui can do it.

But what are you going to play it on? It might not support mkvs with switchable sub/idx.

    I don't know what "switchable sub/idx" is/means.

I have a lot of movies on HDD that I play via WD TV LIVE on my TV. The ones I mentioned I can play because the 3 files all have the same names and they are all in the same folder.

It would be al lot "neater" if all my movies were "1 file movies".

It means that they are embedded in the mkv and not burned in.

The wdtv live supports it but maybe not perfect see http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Firmware/Color-palette-issues-with-MKV-embedded...les/td-p/28050

ANd when you use mkvmergegui be sure to select File->Options->Disable header removal compression first or the mkv might not work on the wdtv.

I tried to merge the 3 files with mkvmergegui (again) and I did as you suggested above,

I can play the moviefile, but there are no subs.

    VLC - same problem!

I solved it with mkvmergegui. It worked the third time around - my bad.

    Thanx Baldrick.
