Blackmagic Intensity Pro, PC capturing questions

I have a gaming PC and a second capturing PC with a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card that I recently got. I have connected my gaming PC video out to the BMIP with HDMI, and a HDMI from the BMIP to my monitor to do capturing.

My video resolution is 720p and I can capture the video fine. However, I have some questions:

* On my monitor there are big black lines top and bottom (see here: http://www.twitch.tv/utigeimtest/b/308042534)

* I want to live stream my gameplay and when I start broadcasting from my second PC, the framerate drastically drops (by 50% or so)on my main PC. How can that be, that's exactly why I got a capture card in the first place... to take the load off the gaming PC.
