  1. How to make VirtualDub recognize FLAC?
    I mean when I select
    "Audio"->"Browse for audio..."
    I can select some other containers (wav,mp3,ac3...), but not FLAC.

    Is there some kind of plugin?

    WAV is a container, whereas MP3 and AC3 are compression methods.

    Yes, there exists a FLAC ACM decoder, however I don't know how well it works.

    There is no way (at this moment) to open FLAC audio (from external .flac file) in VirtualDub.

    Except of course, imports through Avisynth script or DirectShow import driver - but that way you get uncompressed audio in VirtualDub.

    It seems that you are using old VirtualDub - probably VirtualDub-MPEG2 (which is discontinued - superceded by input plugins).

    When I checked... encoding somehow works, but decoding not well.
    Also... this does not provide ability to open .flac file.

  4. Now you can import it.
    First remux the flac file to mkv then import with the Matroska input plugin.
