    hello

i have a pair of in-ear earphones that when I dont play any sound in my pc, there is a constant buzz heard

when i play sounds in my pc, that buzz gets covered

what can I do to fix it?

I cannot say if it is pc problem or earphones problem, because I have no other earphones to test in my pc

    any idea?

    thanks!

  2. Try the earphones on another device -- like a TV. But it's almost certainly a PC problem. Do you have onboard audio? That's usually not so good.

It's interference from all the electronics within the PC. Depends a lot on the sound card you have but these days mostly on-board and they are not well shielded. You need to try them on another device like a noise making TV - if it is clear then the problem most likely is the shielding within the PC and there's not much you can do about it. A better external sound card like an E-MU or Creative SoundBlasterX-Fi would be best if you are seriously into music. The other area to look at is external cables near and around the PC - tidy them up and avoid power cables running parallel to sound cables. (you know how some people strap them all together to look neat - wrong! as far as audio goes)
