    I have an older system with XP SP3 and I've been trying to play an MKV file that has PGS subtitles.

    VSFilter shows that the subtitles are there (and in theory being shown), except they don't come up.
    I've verified they exist with VLC (which plays them just fine).

    Anyway, I'm trying to use MPC (non-HC), vsfilter (latest 2.40.4006) and Haali splitter. I've tried following guides that should make ffdshow render the subs, but I'm having no luck with that either.

    Try mpchc with the new lavfilters.
