  1. I use Sony Vegas 7 to edit the footage recorded with a DVD camcorder, and there are a few scenes filmed in low light that have alot of video noise.

But I can't set the denoise filter to "medium" in MeGUI, just for those few clips with alot of noise, because most of the video has minimum noise.

The only solution I can think of, is to apply some sort of noise reduction in Vegas, before exporting and encoding with MeGUI. But I don't know how to do this. Or is there a better solution ?

  2. denoise the relevant sections before importing into vegas

or apply filter selectively (e.g. use trim() to divide up, or applyrange)

In Vegas, you can try adjusting gamma in "Secondary Color Corrector". Often times, low light or dark shots need a gamma adjustment anyway, even if the noise is minimal.
