  1. Hello
I need to open an AVI in SONY VEGAS but I cannot open it, because I need a codec.
    The codec I need is x264 - 64 bits
Where may I get the last version of this codec?

    Thanks

    There's a CLI and a VFW version...
    CLI: http://x264.nl
    VFW: http://komisar.gin.by/

Or check out the tools' pages on videohelp.com...
    CLI here
    VFW here

Sorry, which is the difference of CLI ? and VFW ? are both the same codec?

The Komisar one I tried it... and after installing it, yes I was able to open the AVI file in VEGAS, but that codec was not working well, because I saw the video pixelated, as when you receive pictures from the Satellite TV and the connection is bad and you see a lot of blocs... the same

So I am a bit confused about which one should I download?

Try installing ffdshow 64-bit if you need a h.264 decoder.

Niether the VFW or CLI versions of x264 supply video decoders. They are encoders only. Both use exactly the same source code library for encoding. The VFW version needs another program to send uncompressed video to it for encoding, while the CLI (command line) version is a stand-alone encoder that can open and convert a number of different video and file formats all by itself.
