AVSTODVD avi to dvd audio sync problem

[stem300]

I have been using AVSTODVD to convert mutiple AVI files to a DVD format. The AVI files play correctly. The conversion completes successfully. However, in one of the converted Episodes the audio and video plays faster than normal. How can I correct this?

Post the details from the avi that doesn't work to convert. Use MediaInfo.

I think the question here is, were the problem episodes produced the same way, with the same codecs, as the good ones?

Some these video files are of, ahem, dubious provenance. They may have been ripped on a system that has codecs installed that you shouldn't install on a Windows system. The support section on the Microsoft site specifically says you shouldn't install any 3rd party codec packs on a Windows 7 system. I stick to software that uses directshow or directx or the .NET framework.

AVStoDVD has taken almost everything I've tossed at it. I've had a few files that wouldn't work ... Avisynth couldn't frameserve them ... but I've been able to use them by using Avidemux to convert them and use that as input. Avidemux isn't the easiest program to use but it's a great editor/converter and will deal with files that Avisynth can't.

Plus some rips were done with software that isn't that great. It has no 2 pass mode or it wasn't used. 2 Pass is really the only way to get best quality and more reliable sync.

What I'd try first is, check Settings and if the program didn't auto select 2 pass VBR mode select it. Then try again.

However, some rips just aren't good. Try playing the problem source avi's with VLC. If that doesn't give you good quality I don't think anything will.

I almost always burn my AVStoDVD output to DVD-RW first to make sure it's good. Best way to minimize coaster production.

AVI files are attached.
Ep 18 converts ok.
Ep 19 is the problem file. Ep 19 also plays perfectly with VLC.
I was able to convert EP 19 as a single conversion. I hard subbed it first before the conversion as an experiment. But it doesn't work if I add multiple files.
