    Zoom player as I like it's mouse controls best.
    VLC for odd files and I like how it handles subtitles.
    TMT3 for Blu-ray.
    MPCHC sometimes.

    IMO, the perfect player doesn't exist, at least for my uses, but I don't mind using a few different players as I have a lot of different types of video files. And I have tried most of the software players available.

    I don't and never will use Windows Media Player for anything.

    Use VLC mostly. Next would be KMplayer. Use them for DVDs and BR to MKV rips.
    Also WinDVD ver 4 for DVDs.

    There was no mention of SMplayer but I use that as well.

    For BRs I use VMP only...... I installed the version of PowerDVD that came with my BR Drive. What junk!!!! Found it to be insufficient so I downloaded the upgrade and found that to be even worse. Un-installed that immediately and until VMP just didn't watch BRs on my computer. Only MKVs.

  6. I mostly watch video clips on the computer, I find PotPlayer fits my needs well. It works especially well with CoreAVC. I use it for DVD playback as well, but not often.

    SPlayer & VLC, in that order, for everything other than DVD. For DVD, Power DVD 7.

    VLC for MKVs (I like the subtitle support and tweakability, not to mention responsiveness and PQ);

    TMT for Blu-ray (has Blu-ray ISO support with full menus, which VLC lacks);

    WMC for OTA HD live and recordings, as well as the occasional analog cable feed (both piped in via a Hauppauge WinTV 885, though I'm about to drop the now almost useless cable);

    WMP for MPGs, AVIs and audio (I like the audio controls and have added WhiteCap visualizations that look awesome fullscreen on a 1080p HTPC 100" projector)

    I should add that I use my PS3 for Bluray and XBMC for music as it uses Milkdrop for visualisation which looks nice on a 50" Plasma.

    Surprised it wasn't one of the options.
