On a AVI file, I would like to view yellow subtitles instead of white ones.
My understanding is that an SRT file can only be viewed with a White text. Is this correct?

So, I have been converting the SRT to an SSA file to get yellow fonts. I feel that it is easier to read and easier on the eyes.

I can open a separate AVI file and then drag the SSA or SRT file onto the VLC player, however the subtitles are still in white.
The only way that I have been able to view the SSA in yellow is to hard sub the file to the AVI file using Virtual Dub. Is this the only way that I can view a video with yellow text?

It takes Virtual Dub about the same amount of time as the length of the video. Is there an easier or faster way to do this?

    Many thanks in advance

IIRC, you need to configure VLC properly, if you want to change the color and the font for the .SRT files.

Anyway, I prefer MPC-HC plus the external filter DirectVobSub

  3. SRT files can be rendered in whatever color the player wants to render them.
