  1. Hey guys,

im pretty new to the whole video stuff etc., so please be aware that my understanding is quite low...
Most recently, I have some problems with the records of my Hauppauge HD PVR. These records are M2Ts files. I import them in sony vegas pro and it crashes when I try to edit the record. After some research, I found out that the records are recorded with 119,xxx fps instead of 59,xxx fps. I know already the reason for that (some driver issues), but I want to save the old records.
Currently, I use a tool (ArcSoft MediaConverter), that was delivered with the HD PVR, to convert the videos. Unfortunately, the records suffer a slight quality loss. Hence, Im looking for another way to reduce the fps of these records.

I saw in another thread that it is appropiate to use MediaInfo to provide information about the video files, so here are the information for one of these records:

    Code:

interestingly, the frame rate is given with 59,940 fps. When I select this record to import in vegas pro, it shows 119,xxx fps. Is there are convient way to save these records?

    Thanks in advance,

  2. Apparently Vegas has issues with certain versions of the HD-PVR, probably firmware or driver issues like you said. Other editors like Premiere do not seem to have the problem

There is a workaround by re-wrapping the file with ffmbc. Re-wrapping just copies the video into a different container, so quality is unaffected. You can find it in this thread, page 2

  4. It works! Awesome!
Thank you very much. Even though the solution is not trivial (atleast from my point of view), I got a quick and uncomplicated response. Lucky me that you saw this thread...
