I have a Blu-Ray player that will only play .avi files... I have a bunch of MKV files (700+) some of them I would like to convert to .avi so I can play them... Is there a good converter that won't effect video quality? Or should I just get a media player to play all files?

  4. if it not a batch conversion and Win is OS, i would rather use VirtualDub + mkv input plugin (with Haali Media Splitter) which offers detailed settings of XViD to tune upto desired quality with audio (ac-3 i guess for BD players) direct stream copy.
