Video->Compression and choose a video codec like xvid codec.

  3. Cropping can be attached to any filter. So if you're using some other filter you can add cropping to it. The cropping takes place before the filter.

  4. Hi.. I have done that and my file is mpeg in high quality. I am using VirtudalDubMOD not like yours and clicked save as... and changed to Xvid MPEG-4 Codec (XVID) and I got this error message:

    Cannot start video compression:

An unknown error occurred (may corrupted data).
    (error code - 100)

  5. Xvid requires that the frame height be an even value. You probably left an odd size. I suggest you use a multiple of 4 (mod4). Some older decoders can't handle mod2. And for best efficiency it's even better to use mod8 or mod16.
