I have been using freemake converter for a while to covert to dvd and burn my home movies.
I takes roughfly 10 to 12 minutes from start to finsh. (approx 150 minutes of Video)
I am completey happy with the quality and every other feature.
Question can any one recommend another "converter" free or "not" that is faster and easy to use>
    Thanks
i have tryied ConvertXtoDVD 4 simple to use but take about 30 minutes

  2. Never tried it myself, and (currently) it hasn't been updated in over 2 years, but DVD Flick is free.

But as you said, you're completely happy with Freemake

DVD FLICK did have a reputation for being fast at the expense of a little quality, perhaps.

thanks However i am open to any converter that is faster than fremake ie free downloads or ones that you have to buy.
All in all i guess fremake converter at 10-15 minutes to convert and burn a dvd is a descent time for the quality i have been getting.
Maybe i am asking for to much?

I doubt you will find anything faster.

There might be a faster program if you are just moving the video and audio to a different container without converting to another codec, but 10 to 12 minutes is fast for any other kind of conversion (to a different codec) or for DVD authoring. I doubt that you can do better if you are doing either of those things.

fremake converter took 11 minutes 4 seconds to convert and burn
convertXtodvd 4 took 16 minutes 30 seconds to convert and burn A little better quality but not much than freemake
DVD FLICK I will download and try it next

So far freemake is the fastest and free (flv to dvd, burn dvd and then let you play in television dvdplayer)My thoughts only

To just burn a full ( 4.7 GB) DVD on my box takes 7 minutes @ 12x.

Are you using a Cray Supercomputer to do your encodes?

have a go with favc, its uses a "special multicore" quenc version, i remember using it on a quadcore pc and it opened 4 quenc instances at the same time converting at the same time, really fast and good quality conversion. it hasnt been updated but works
I love it when a plan comes together!

Nope, dvd flick hasn't been updated for a long time so it doesn't support all flvs.

I was wondering if you folks no if the purchased version of convertXtodvd 4 was faster than the free trial version?

freemake converter took 11 minutes 4 seconds to convert and burn
convertXtodvd 4 took 16 minutes 30 seconds to convert and burn A little better quality but not much than freemake

  19. When I use Freemake Video Converter, it only seems to convert to about 22 or 23 minutes. It says it's complete but none of the 6 files I've tried complete to the end. In fact, after I add the video and choose the format to convert, it even shows the size of the show to only be 22 ish minutes. Anyone else run into this?

Crappy/corrupt source? Maybe badly joined so it only sees the first joined file for example.

But I don't see what that has do with this thread...fastest video to dvd converter...
