    Hey guys:

    I have been having real problems trying to get multiAVCHD to create a normal AVCHD folder that I can burn to a BD. This is happening with multiple files and I know all the settings are correct in multiAVCHD. I have tried mkvExtract(older version) and then mkvMerge(new version) to demux and remux. I have also tried mkvmerge, gdsmux and mkclean to strip the headers etc... Nothing seems to work. These reports are from an original untouched file. It's the latest log report from multiAVCHD and from mediainfo:

    It looks like the video codec fails at the end of multi??? I have ffDSHOW installed. The only other codec I installed on this machine is Xvid.

    Is there a clue in reading the mediainfo file information if a file has a header that should removed??

    What's your ultimate goal here? To just get a disc that plays and you don't need a menu? If so maybe tsmuxer will do the job you want. If your goal is "Must have a menu and create a disc that plays" then maybe someone else can help. I don't use multiAVCHD as I have one of those rare BD players that cannot play anything it produces. I do suggest that if you have a re-writable BD-RE disc handy and your player actually can play it that you try burning anything multiAVCHD produces to it first as some BD players are fussier than others and the author admits that you may have to tweak the settings before you can get multiAVCHD to create something your player will play. You really don't want to be burning coasters with BD discs until you hit on the right settings for playback on your player.

    Anyway, thanks for posting the info. I can tell you that it seems that multiAVCHD is barfing because your source file is VC-1 (AVC). Maybe multiAVCHD simply cannot handle VC-1 video input. Someone else will have to comment on that.

    Thanks for the reply jman. I like the fact that I can put multiple movies on one BD. Problem is a lot of the files aren't working with multi anymore. I will wait for someonelse to chime in and I will google if multi can handle VC-1.

    Try to transcode the files using CLI. That usually works for me.

    Yes use avs, script import your video using directshow, and you can add borders as well if the video height is non-compliant. Use the veryfast pre-set to reduce your encode time.

    Uncropmkv will auto adjust the right height for you to make it compliant.

    avisynth scriptcreate in text editor and save with avs extension. script wiill add border if needed)
    Code:
       video=DirectShowSource("O:\VideoWork\myvideo.mkv")
       videoHeight=video.heigth
       videoWidth=video.width
       tbBorders=(720-videoHeight)/2
       lrBorders=(1280-videoWidth)/2

       video=video.abbborders(lrBorders, tbBorders, lrBorders, tbBorders)
    use this script to encode the video using x264
    Code:
    c:\x264\x264.exe --bitrate XXXXX --preset veryfast --tune film --bluray-compat --vbv-maxrate 40000 --vbv-bufsize 30000 --level 4.1 --keyint 24 --open-gop --slices 4 --subme 2 --colorprim "bt709" --transfer "bt709" --colormatrix "bt709" --sar 1:1  -o myVideo.264 myVideo.avs
    I don't think uncropMKV will work, it was created by the same author that wrote mutivachd and from the looks of it the both use the same code to uncrop the video.

    Uncropmkv will work with vc-1,done it myself,long as you got ffdshow setup right.

    i would suggest following the instructions here: http://adubvideo.net/how-to/setup-proper-decoding-chain-windows-7

    it will save you from a lot of frustration. i haven't had a single issue with vc-1 and mAVCHD since properly setting the decoding chain.

    you shouldn't have to worry about writing any scripts to resize the video. and the version of mAVCHD you are using supersedes the latest version of uncropmkv (according to deank). just resize it in the transcode window as you did before.

    also, you may want to use eac3to instead of ffdshow for audio conversion...but i guess that's just my personal preference.

    Thanks guys, I will try all of these things. I like to knowing this stuff. Quick question. With this particular file that I posted above. The height is off and needs adjustment. The film has hard coded subs and I also picked up some external subs and I know how to put them on already. So when the height gets adjusted to the proper settings both sets of sub-titles are gone. Is there a way around that???

    If the subs are hard coded they won't disappear as they are part of the video stream. Perhaps they are embedded subs loaded the vile into media info and see if there is a subtitle stream.

    I think this is what you wanted to see:

    Text

    ID : 3 Format : PGS Muxing mode : zlib Codec ID : S_HDMV/PGS Codec ID/Info : The same subtitle format used on BDs/HD-DVDs Default : Yes Forced : No

    What does that tell you?

    I miss understood when u referred to hard sub i instantly thought of encoded mkv/mp4 file.
    The subs that you are referring to are probably forced subs, they are often used for example when a BD/HD-DVD title has parts spoken in something other than the selected audio language. Let's say a movie like the "French Connection" for instance if you select the English audio, subs for the portions that are spoken in French are forced to display, instead of all English subtitles, and vice versa if you choose French as the default language the the subs for the portions spoken in English are force to show instead of all French subs.

    To get a similar effect in your encoded MKV file you would need to determine which sub-title track is the one that contains the track you want, for instance the non English parts, and set it as the default sub-title track. Unfortunately these tracks aren't appropriately marked , the only certain way i know of is to demux the tracks with eac3to and convert the sup files to sub using bdsup2sub. You can then parse the sub files and by looking at the time codes etc you can determine the correct track. Or you may be able to download them from subtitling site (draw backs to subtitle site is they like to brand their stuff with their site name showing up on screen at the end or begging of the subtitles, and some times the subs the are incorrect ones they will be from DVD instead of blu-ray so the timing will be off, you will have to manual check these things.)
