On some packaging for blank DVD media I see a stylized "RW" logo. What does it mean? I'm not talking about the RW that signifies rewritable discs. This logo is pretty small and inconspicuous.

It is the logo for the DVD+RW Alliance, the group of companies which developed the standards used for DVD+R, DVD+R DL and DVD+RW media.

usually_quiet is correct. Please note that although this was not done in the past, in recent years the Alliance has put this logo on DVD+R disc packages and some consumers have incorrectly concluded that their DVD+R discs were actually DVD+RW.

Yea, I noticed that too. Some guy goes by PA Bear on Tech Support group said Toshiba won't let the DVD+RW Alliance group use the regular DVD logo, so they chose the little RW Logo. It doesn't mean Re-Writable (in this context). paj692
