    Hi

I have Avatar movie in SBS mkv format and converted .srt into .sup using 3D subtitler. After muxing them using mkvmerge I can see the subtitles harcoded on PC but not on my LG 3D TV via DLNA. What am I doing wrong and how to fix this?

    Thanks

    Huh??

Subs that are MUXED into a file are NOT hardcoded at all. Only when subs become become part of the video are they truly hardcoded. What you've got there are just sub streams muxed along with the muxed video & audio streams.

So, the question really is: does your LG TV support muxed subs?
Every video device supports hardcoded subs (as long as they support the video), because by that point they are one with the video.

Why don't you tell us further info about your player/server software, you DNLA setup, your TV model, etc...

My TV ls LG LW5600 , DLNA Server is Buffalo NAS LS-VL607 LS-V2.0TL. connected to router WHR-HP-G300N .

While LG TV does support avi mp4 and mkv etc but I dont think it supports muxed subtitles. subtitles are probably not supported by DLNA media server either. So in this what is the best way to hardcode the subs?

you might be better off getting a device that supports subs if you really need them. an lg bluray player like the bd670 works nicely with a nas.

otherwise you will have to re-encode the video to burn in the subs permanently. the quality of the video will be reduced.

  5. Step 1:
    Use 3D Subtitler
    Create 3d subtitle *.sup file
Duration ~ 5 minutes (depends cpu)

    Step 2:
    USE Tsmuxer
    Transform movie *.mkv to *.ts
Duration ~ 15 minutes (depends cpu)

    Step 3:
    USE RipBot264
Transform movie *.ts to *.mkv again
Now in option use "Permanent subtitle" and use *.sup file from first step.
    CQ = 18 (Best quality)
Duration ~ 4 hours (depends cpu)
