  1. Hello people, I need to know how to find the bitrate of an mkv video.

I used mediainfo, but i didnt get anything.

The reason when I need this is cause when im converting the video I wonna get similar bitrate so i dont lose any quality or dont take up extra space

Why do you want to convert mkv container video?

Why would you be converting it? If you're just trying to get it into a compatible container like .mp4 or .avi then it would be much, much, much quicker to just remux it.

  5. For sony vegas and after effects

    I got the text thing.

How do remux it into .avi?

I had problems before where it lag and stutter using .mp4 (done with mp4box) in after effects.

Post the mediainfo text so we can see what is in the container. MKV and AVI are just containers. We need to know the video and audio codec details.

    View as text.

    OK that shows in summary

    Anime source
    1280x720p @ 23.976 film rate
    h.264 video codec
    AAC audio codec
    2,619 Kbps bit rate

To make this open in Vegas, change container from mkv to .mp4.

There should be no reason to recode video or audio, just change container.

Set Vegas to 1280x720 23.976 project. To do any serious editing in Vegas or AE, you will need to decode h.264 to uncompressed or a digital intermediate.
