Greetings. I have a Sony HDR-FX7 camera, and want to feed it via firewire directly into the computer to record. It is working fine, but so far only Vegas 11 Pro allows me to monitor the input on the computer - and only in a tiny window. I would like to be able to monitor at full screen. Adobe Premiere CS5 does not do it, and I have been unable to find anything that does.

    Any suggestions?

HDV is compressed mpeg-2 at 25mbps. it wasn't a good idea to try and decode it and display it while capturing it because of the potential for dropped frames. today's high end computers could probably handle it but HDV capture software was all written years ago. an external large display for the camera is about the only way i can think of to get a bigger picture.

it's not likely anyone is going to bother writing new software as HDV is going the way of DVavi for the most part. it just never caught on in the consumer world.
