  1. I have a 2 minute video taken with my iphone 4.

About 30 seconds in, I rotate the phone from a "portrait" position to a
    landscape position.

    Now comes time to edit...

What I would like to do is keep the first 30 seconds as is and rotate the
rest to fill the widescreen frame.

I have tried to rotate it using the motion video effect under effect
controls but when I do that, I lose the left and right sides of the clip as
    it keeps the "portrait" look.

In other words, the clip is rotating inside of the portrait instead of the
entire frame rotating (which is what I want to do).

Thanks in advance for the help!

you don't say what you are using to edit with, but to do what you want you need to start with a 16/9 box that will have the 4:3 video show up with black bars on both sides, then the widescreen when rotated will fill the screen.

Sorry about that Adobe Premiere Pro CS5...

The iPhone video is actually shot in 16:9 or 1280x720. If I have to lose quality or crop it, I will probably scrap the project.
