    Hi ozok,
    thx for this great program.

    Still, i've got 2 questions :

    1/
As i'm using Profile Editor to create my own Profiles, I only found how to create new profiles, or "edit" the existing ones.... but...
is it possible to DELETE a profile ? (like the ones i feel i'll never use, etc.)

    2/
    Another profiles related question :

I've drag&dropped 3 different video files i'd like to convert, but, i'd like to use a different profile for each one.
How can i apply a different profile for each file ?
(is it possible yet ? Incoming feature ?)

    thx for ur help

    Quick Edit :
I just noticed that once u press the "Refresh" button in the Profile Editor, u cannot acces any existing profiles in the main window anymore...
Maybe it's a bug, maybe i'm doing something wrong, but i just tried multiple times, exiting/relaunching TEncoder : this problem keeps happening. So i report

    1) No not at the moment but i'll try to add that ASAP. Meanwhile, you can edit profile file manually to remove profiles. It is located at "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\VC" for windows 7 users. Open it with your text editor, it is an ini file.

    2) Again, no not at the moment . TEncoder works as batch encoder, so it will apply same options to all files in the list. Maybe in the future.

Yes, it seems you found a bug, thanks. I'm working on it.

You might want to add Opus support additionally/instead since Speex has been discontinued in favor of Opus. see: http://www.speex.org/

    Hi ozok
I am interested in trying TEncoder as I like the look of it. However after installing the current version (V3) I have discovered it will not handle AVS (avisynth) files. It renders the audio but not the vision. Avanti opens and encodes these files, as do a number of other programs without problems.
Is there anyway that I can get TEncoder to handle these files.
I want to be able to encode to DVD (standard) and Bluray (up to 1920x1080x25i) using both Mpeg2 and H264 codecs.
It would also be good to be able to encode to AVCHD up to 1920x1080x50P!!!
Also can it encode to WMV3?
    Thanks in advance
    Goorawin

  20. I really like the CPU meter on 3.0!! Saves me running Core Temp in the corner. Plus now I don't have to do the math adding up the percentage usage for each of the 4 cores.

@goorawin please send me logs. FFMpeg and MEncoder does not support WMV3 encoding. They can decode it but cannot encode to it.

    @MilesAhead same here.

    Hi Ozok
Thank you for your reply. Attached are the log files. MEcoder does work with avs files however the quality is very poor and changing the bit rate setting has no effect. I would prefer to use Ffmpeg as I know many of the custom arguments. This will be necessary as TEncoder does not appear to have any interlace options (why not?).
The reason I was interested to have WMV3 as an encoder is because it is the only format (WMV2 will not work) that tricks many TV's and players to play 1920x1080 at 50P. AVCHD will do it but only from DVD disc, which do not hold enough data.
Anyway hope you can figure out the AVS issue.
    Thanks

I think i figured why FFMpeg won't accept avs files. TEncoder tries to decide if source file is audio-only in order to pass audio options only. Since avs files have no video streams, it sees them as audio files. I've made some changes and will post a modified TEncoder.exe shortly.

Replace this exe file with your TEncoder.exe. Make sure you create a backup.

    Hi Ozok
That works, great!!!. I will do some serious testing next week.
The preview does not work, is there any way to get that to work?
The AVS plays in Media player classic, TMPGEnc and others.
Thanks again for such a quick response and what looks to be a great simple program.

    Hi Ozok
I have just tried TEncoder on windows7 and it appears that the same error (with AVS files) occurs regardless of which exe I use. Attached are the logs for your information.
    Thanks

@goorawin is your OS 64bit? There might be a conflict between 64bit FFmpeg and 32bit avisynth.

  30. I have WD HDTV for USB gen1 set top box. I can't seem to figure out the TEncoder 3.0 presets. Three out of the 4 listed for WD say (mkv) but when I select them and hit Apply Button, none of them have MKV as the output container type. Some have AVI, some have MP4. It leaves me doing the settings by hand. Is there something obvious that just goes over my head? Granted .mp4 files give good quality for the bit rate, but I cannot seek the video in my WD player using .mp4 or .m4v files. For that reason I'm trying to encode to AC3 audio and MKV container. No chapter support but at least I can hit the FF button, then Next to jump ahead in 10 minute chunks.

This program really seems to be coming into its own. Great progress. I enjoy using it.
