Well...Not sure if this question has been asked before but this is something that I am curious about. As far as I know, the resolution of the NTSC DVD is 720x480, and the PAL DVD is 720x576. Is it possible for the resolution of NTSC DVD to be 720 x 540? I know it is possible to resize...But I am not talking about resize but resolution.

Follow question. Well...but then one of the videos I downloaded encoded in MKV is of 720 x 540 resolution, and then at the upper left corner is the US logo.

Does it really mean that it is a US NTSC DVD?

I use classic media player to play it. I got this info by looking at the property of the classic media player.

Did that also mean the encoder resize it?

Not if it's 720x540. Maybe it was made from an NTSC DVD and resized in the process. GSpot or MediaInfo should be able to tell more about what's in that MKV.

If you're wondering if it can be burned as DVD, almost certainly not without it being converted back to DVD video.
