  1. Hello,

I have a VMP70 which plays most of the files great. However, I noticed that there are certain mkv files which do not play at all(just shows black screen, but the duration of the file shows up on the tv screen). Thes files play ok on my PC. I can't figure out why there are issues with certain mkv files only? I have used mediainfo to derive information on a particular file which I was unable to play on my VMP70. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance!!!

  2. The player may not like the header stripping (although the usual symptom is just refusing to play the file). Try a remux with MMG with the "Disable Header Removal Compression" option enabled. You have to exit and restart MMG after changing the option for it to take effect.

  3. "Thanks for the response. I downloaded the program mkvmerge GUI. But I was unable to see the option "Disable Header Removal Compression". Sorry for the newbie question...could you please elaborate as how to do this??

    Thanks!
