My church wants to look into making video recordings of all services. I'm just looking for suggestions for equipment to look at.
Camera(s) -
Video editing software
Duplication equipment needed
The intent, is to make DVDs available to the congregation & shut-ins.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are your computer specs accurate?
If DVD is the goal and HD is secondary, I'd suggest an HDV camcorder like the Canon HV40 (~$699). You can record HD to tape, but downscale in the camcorder to 720x480 60i DV for quick edit and DVD encode.

For software look at Vegas Movie Studio Platinum (~$60-99).
If you go the AVCHD route, you will need a fast computer.
Read through this thread for pro/con of various workflows.

Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Another thing to consider: Do you want the dvds available immediately after the service? If so, you might want to look at a dvd recorder connected to a mixer (if using more than 1 camera) or connected directly to the camera (if using just 1 camera.)
